Hive is such a hub of activity that it’s not always easy to know who does what. This post will guide you through who is who and Hive and what we all do.
Joy Hart – Manager Joy oversees the running of Hive and supports all members of staff in their individual roles. She is a first point of contact for many people who come along to Hive be them service users, partners or other agencies. Joy actively seeks and applies for various funding in order for Hive to provide the projects and services that we offer to the community.
Simon Allan – Operational Support & Make@Hive Wood work Simon undertakes a multitude of tasks at Hive. He offers woodwork inductions to enable members to use the woodwork facilities at Hive and runs a Supported Drop-In group in woodwork as part of the make@Hive project. Simon also tends to our health & safety needs and regularly helps class participants with their enquiries.
Claire Wellesley-Smith – Project Coordinator
Claire is one of Hive’s project coordinators, currently managing our Flourish project.Claire looks after Hive’s dye garden and regularly teaches textile based arts courses as well as facilitating groups at Hive and out in Bradford’s communities as part of our project work.
Carolyn Fateryha – Make@Hive Project Worker Carolyn runs our non-wood based, Make@Hive supported Drop-In groups that happen each week. You can find Carolyn most days in the Birklands room or Pottery studios helping someone with their work.
Aaron Midgley – Receptionist
Aaron is one of the newest recruits at Hive and has made a huge impact already. Aaron is most likely your first point of contact at Hive and is able to help with bookings, enquiries and general matters.
Jane McDonald – Project Coordinator
Jane is one of the Thrive project coordinators and runs the arts-based 10 week courses on the project. She regularly teaches Painting & Drawing classes at Hive.
Rachel Lee – Volunteer Coordinator & Thrive project coordinator Rachel is well known to many of Hives service users due to her involvement in volunteer recruitment and project participant recruitment. Rachel is active in building relationships with other organisations and Hive’s busy community.
Martin Measures – Wood Technician
You can always find Martin hard at work in the wood workshop. He is on hand to help out with any wood based questions or assistance you may need.
Emma Inman – Mental Health Referral Development & Membership Coordinator Emma works to promote and deliver the WEA adult education programme and look after our members. She also works to raise the profile of Hive particularly with Mental Health partners and organisations.
Kurrum Ahmed – Studio Assistant Kurrum has recently joined us at Hive and will be available to help you with all of your needs when working in the visual arts and ceramic studios.
Lee Keith – Administrative Assistant Lee joins Hive to assist the office with administration and such things. He will be working alongside the project coordinators and office staff.
